  • Happy Mothers Day!

The days are getting longer and warmer and the first big celebration of spring is on the horizon: Mother’s Day falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent, this year on March 11. Mother’s Day gives us the perfect opportunity to let our mums know just how much they are loved and appreciated.

Mother's Day, or Mothering Sunday as it is sometimes known, originated as a religious festival in the 16th century when on Laetare Sunday, a day when the harsh rules of Lent were temporarily relaxed, people would return to their "mother" church, the one where they had been baptised. In Victorian times, servants would be given the day off to visit their mothers, with gifts of Simnel cakes - fruit cakes with marzipan - and bunches of spring flowers.

Mother’s Day is often seen as a chance for families to get together and mark the occasion with a special lunch or afternoon tea; the custom of giving your mum a card and a gift such as a bouquet of gorgeous blooms is another very popular way of celebrating the special bond between mother and child.

If you can’t travel to see your mum, online florists such as Interflora offer a great service by delivering hand-tied bouquets direct to her door. Waitrose also offers a selection of fresh flowers: choose from roses, tulips or a lovely arrangement in a basket while Scilly Flowers provides bunches of freshly picked daffodils and scented narcissi that make great Mother’s Day gifts.

One of our favourite online florists is Flying Flowers and as a special Mother’s Day offer, just tell us what you love about your mum on social media and we will send her a gorgeous Sweet Cupcake pastel bouquet from Flying Flowers in a pop up vase, complete with a gift card with your special message.

  • Our Best DIY Pancake Recipe

Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is coming up fast so it’s time to perfect your pancake flipping skills!

Everyone loves golden brown pancakes, crisp and freshly cooked and at Enzo jeans, we know there’s no need to waste money on expensive pancake mixes. They are really cheap and easy to make yourself with just a few store cupboard ingredients. Whether you like yours with the traditional lemon and sugar or prefer to indulge in strawberry jam, Nutella or even fresh blueberries, they taste so good, you’ll be making them all year round!

    Traditional Pancakes Recipe

This recipe makes about 12 small pancakes. They are so delicious eaten straight from the pan that everyone will be queuing up for more.

It’s easiest to use a small non-stick frying pan or omelet pan with a base of about 18-20 cm for these pancakes as the batter will spread too much in a larger one.

    120g plain flour
    Pinch of salt
    2 large eggs
    275 ml milk
    2 tablespoons butter, melted
Extra butter for cooking the pancakes

To serve: lemon slices and caster sugar

    • Sieve the flour and salt into a large basin and make a well in the center.
    • Break the eggs into the well and gradually start to whisk them up, incorporating the flour as you go. Use an electric whisk or a traditional balloon whisk, either is fine.
    • Gradually add the milk, whisking very thoroughly to ensure that no lumps of flour remain.
    • Scrape down the edges and base of the bowl to check that no flour is left behind, then give the mixture a final whisk - it should now be easy to pour and the consistency of single cream.

When you are ready to start cooking, add the melted butter to the pancake batter and mix thoroughly. To cook the pancakes, your pan needs to be very hot and greased with a little piece of butter (you will need to do this before cooking each pancake). Now, add a couple of tablespoonsful of batter to the hot pan and swirl it around so that it covers the base. It should be quite thin. Cook for about 1 minute then lift one side with a spatula to check whether it’s browning: now it’s time to turn the pancake over!

To turn a pancake in the traditional way, gently shake the pan to make sure the pancake is not stuck to the base. Holding the pan at arm’s length, give a sharp upward jerk to the handle and the pancake should flip over in mid-air, settling back into the pan with the uncooked side down. Cook for a further minute or so until nice and golden.

Of course, you can also play safe and turn your pancakes with a spatula! Even easier, if you make your pancakes really thin, they will cook through without any need to turn them over - just roll them up so that the paler side is not visible. To serve, sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice and enjoy.

We'd love to see how your pancakes turned out!  Tag us into your social shots and share them with the #Enzojeans on any of our social links below-

  • Food V Man: The Top 5 Manchester Eateries

We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to the best places to grab a bite in Manchester Eateries. From beastly burger joints to Indian street food to Pan-Asian inspired eateries, the food scene up North is vibrant and the choices are endless. So, without further ado, we’ve pulled together our favorite five mouth-wateringly good eateries that won’t disappoint.

Luck, Lust, Liquor & Burn (100-102 High St, Manchester M4 1HP)

Based in the heart of the Northern Quarter, LLLB (for short – it’s quite a mouthful every time!) brings you bold Californian style Mexican food mixed with an extensive range of craft and bottled beers. The guacamole is freshly smashed at your table and the breakfast burrito is hands down the food of champions. We also recommend the tacos, nachos, chicken blasts… pretty much the whole lot.

    Cottonopolis (16 Newton Street, Manchester, M1 2AE)

This Asian inspired bar restaurant sets itself apart from other meat-centric establishments that the Northern Quarter has to offer. This former tailor’s studio offers small plates from their bustling open kitchen, along with an impressive menu of European and locally brewed beers, spirits and cocktails. The menu is based on four themes; ice, steam, fire and oil and their Bao Stuffed Buns are not something to be missed.

    Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza (9 Cotton Street, Manchester, M4 5BF)

Listed as one of the best pizzerias in the world, Rudy’s can be found hidden away in the up-and-coming Ancoats area (formally known as Little Italy in the 19th Century) serving up Neapolitan style pizzas in easy going settings. Queues are almost inevitable, so arrive early and be ready to feast.

    Volta (167 Burton Road, Manchester, M20 2LN)

Based in the leafy Manchester suburbs (West Didsbury to be exact), Volta may be on the smaller, intimate side but its menu is mighty. From small plates to Sunday Roasts, their menu is inspired by the owners’ adventures around the world, back when they were DJs before they decided to open this popular neighbourhood as a top 5 Manchester Eateries.

Kettlebell Kitchen (5 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester, M4 5AB)

Another gem located in the new food district of Ancoats, Kettlebell Kitchen is handily located across the road from Pure Gym so it is always bustling daily with those on-the-go fitness fanatics and those wanting a guilt-free takeaway. The menu is completely ‘clean’ but it would be a hard task to not find something on the menu you didn’t like…Halloumi fries, protein pizza, shakes and even syrup waffles.

We've also discovered that the to go outfit for eating out has to be the either a classic pair of white jeans or a stylish pair of ripped jeans.

  • 2017's Best New Cars

Boys that like (very loud, very fast) toys better buckle up. The next 12 months is set to be a bumper year for car releases, with all the big names from Aston Martin to Ferrari announcing new sets of wheels.

Whether you’re in the market for a new Mercedes or just fancy window shopping BMW’s souped-up SUV, here’s our pick of the best premium launches coming in 2017.

    Aston Martin V8 Vantage

After massive success launching the DB11, Aston Martin has announced it is updating the V8 Vantage.

While the iconic styling of Britain’s first supercar remains pretty much unchanged, recent investment by Mercedes means this souped-up model gains the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine found across the AMG range.

If the price tag’s not quite baller enough for you, a more expensive convertible version is set to follow. All in time for a new Bond.

    Available in autumn, priced £90,000.

    Ferrari GTC4Lusso T

Found the standard GTC4Lusso a bit flashy? The T version might be more up your street. This re-work trades the V12 engine for a V8, and four-wheel drive for rear-wheel, making it much lighter as a result.

Despite these scaled-down specs, it’s still a Ferrari – so it’s probably not going to come cheap. It is expected to come with a slightly smaller price tag than the regular version’s £230,000, though. Phew.

Release date not yet confirmed, price not yet confirmed.

    Audi A6

Thanks to a new design team at Audi, the latest A6 is expected to be a different beast. There are rumours of a brand new sporty design, and a peep under the bonnet shows it’s all change there, too.

Cutting-edge engine and gearbox technology featuring electric turbochargers mean it’s 100kg lighter than the outgoing version. While this makes it sharper to drive, you might not need to – it also features next-generation self-driving tech. Welcome to the future.

Release date not yet confirmed, price not yet confirmed.

  • Easter Style- Perfect for Jeans Lovers

It’s fair to say that people love jeans, however with so many different styles it can be difficult to decide what type of jeans you should wear. Take advantage of the many men’s jeans offers available at Enzo Jeans, and look great this Easter!

There Are So Many Different Styles To Choose From!

Jeans are an important item of clothing for many men. Its really important you find a style that looks great on you and feels comfortable. With such a large selection of men’s jeans offers to browse, how do you know which style is right for you?

Here are five tips to help you choose your next new pair of jeans!

    1. Men’s Skinny Jeans; Are Skinny Jeans Dead?

There a lot of debate between the on-going popularity of skinnies. The answer to the question often depends on whoever is wearing them; for a lot of men, skinny jeans are very much alive!

If you enjoy wearing skinny fitting jeans, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy the style and fit. Skinny styles have been popular for many years, from glam rock stars in the ‘70s to the new alternative scene of the ‘00s and the current decade. There are numerous different styles and outfits in which you can enjoy skinny jeans, so unleash your inner rock star and grab a pair of skinny distressed jeans such as this fantastic pair of rip & repaired blue acid jeans!

    1. Men’s Stretch Jeans; Is Stretch The Future?

One complaint many people have about skinny jeans is that they don’t have enough flexibility. Whilst some people enjoy tighter fitting jeans, they would definitely like some more freedom in the movement of their denim. With stretch fitting jeans, you can enjoy a tighter fit in your jeans but also enjoy the feeling of freedom that stretch jeans can provide.

Stretch jeans are a fantastic choice in many different styles, you can enjoy a smart casual look with a shirt and some dress shoes, maybe add a blazer/sport coat for extra style. Or you can go the alternative rock route with these stretch black wash jeans, grab a pair of boots or canvas shoes; throw on a band tee and a denim or leather jacket for a fantastic look to wear at the local rock bar!

    1. Men’s Slim Jeans; Is Slim Fit The New Straight Fit?

For years straight fit or straight cut jeans ruled supreme as the favourite style for many men. Today many men probably have a pair of straight cut jeans somewhere in their wardrobe.

However, with the return of skinny jeans a few years ago, slim fit jeans have increased in popularity. These jeans are fantastic when you want to add a touch of smartness to your casual outfits, instead of a pair of relaxed regular jeans with a casual t-shirt, how about this outfit?

A pair of mid stonewash slim fit jeans with black or brown shoes and a plain white tee will give you a great casual outfit. This outfit would be fantastic for brunch, meeting with friends or perhaps casual Friday at work when the office dress code is a bit more relaxed.

    1. Men’s Combat Jeans; Slim Or Skinny Not For You? No Problem!

Slim and skinny styles aren’t right for every man, we are all unique and we should all have our own style. If you are searching for looser fitting jeans, combat jeans are a fantastic choice.

You don’t just get extra legroom with combat jeans; you also get extra pocket space. This extra space is fantastic for physical activities. You can keep a small bottle of water and a pocket map in your pockets, put on a jacket, a pair of walking boots and go outside for a walk.

Combat jeans aren’t just for the physically active; they can also look great when worn for casual occasions. Wear these dark wash cargo combat jeans with a pair of trainers/sneakers, put on your favourite hoodie and you have a great casual outfit, perfect for relaxing.

    1. Men’s Regular Jeans; A Must Have For Any Man’s Wardrobe

Regular jeans; they are a reliable friend for many men. If you can’t decide between a slim or relaxed fit, go for regular jeans!

Regular style jeans are very versatile. You can wear a pair of regular jeans at the bar, at work (if your dress code allows jeans) or just lounging around the house at home. Grab two pairs of regular jeans, a dark pair like these black regular fit jeans, and a blue pair like these midwash jeans. With these two pairs of jeans, you can create numerous different outfits, from smart casual outfits with shirts and blazers to casual outfits with a t-shirt and jacket.

  • Workout Outfit Ideas

Some men set low standards for their gym gear, but if you're still working out in your class of '09 shirt, your exercise wardrobe definitely needs an benefit upgrade.

"The gym is more social now," says Matt Taylor, co-founder and CEO of the athletic line Track-smith. "Women have raised their style game, and it's time for guys to catch up."

New breathable materials can help you tame BO (body odour), reduce chafing, and mop up the sweat. Did we mention that they look a lot nicer too?

Monday is chest day so you will need something that will show some part of your chest. Vests are a good option for this but stay away from string vests as they don't look as good as you think.

Leg day is hated by many because it is one of the hardest muscle parts to workout. Doing a lot of squats, presses and extensions can cause pain on your legs; but it’s the only way it will grow.

Compression tights are extremely good for leg exercises, they will make you feel so much better.  Want to know why?

When you are working hard on your legs, that area can become inflamed. That muscle area will then get an increase in fluid and white blood cells to that affected area, causing swelling and increase of pressure.

  • 3 Items you'll need this Spring

Spring's nearly here and this is the perfect time of the year for brands to start launching their Spring collections (or teasing customers prior to launching).

Men's fashion is an ever changing world and sometimes it can be hard to keep up with, especially if you're one of those guys you hates shopping. If you're one of those people, this article will be your salvation as we will sum up the keys items for this Spring.

You thought it was over, right? Thought you saw the last of camo this winter and it won't happen again? Think again because like the bomber jacket and smart-casual sneakers, camo isn’t budging.

The fact that camo has been present everywhere this season makes this more of an upgrade rather than a new trend; the military print remains something every man needs in his wardrobe.

Just take a look at the SS17 collections from brands and designers including Dsquared2Givenchy and Valentino and it’s clear this pattern’s got life in it yet.

We leave you here some of our favourite options.

    Lightweight Parkas

Let's be honest, lightweight parkas make a lot of sense because...practicality; Spring often means light showers and the fact that you can wear light pieces is the best news ever.

Big brands like, Versace, Lemaire and Lou Dalton, showed their versions of these warm-weather parkas which are made from breezily light manmade materials, often unlined and ideal if you’re looking for an alternative to a hoodie to top-off an athleisure look once the temperature starts hiking.

You got plenty of options but we especially like these.

Various seasons have passed and the simplicity was key but this Spring, menswear is once again warming up to the idea that more just might be more. Following the flamboyant lead of Alessandro Michele’s amped-up work for Gucci, designers this season offered up menswear staples spliced with serious attitude – from bleach-splattered denim at Bally and Dsquared2 to embroidered cowboy shirts at Missoni.

As with all statements, a little goes a long way. So tip your hat to the trend with one standout piece per look – whether that’s a jacket with contrast embroidery or embellished jeans – and you’ll look trend-conscious without going full arts-and-crafts class. - Cillian O'Connor,

We got some options on our website that fit this trend and you probably want to check them out, to do so visit our website today!
